Welcome to August 2019 Newsletter!

Our monthly newsletter update for Link Workers & organisations involved with Social Prescribing & Link Working

National Association of Link Workers Chief Executive Christiana Melam named a finalist in the UK Social Enterprise Awards, recognising businesses which are changing the world.
Commenting on being shortlisted, Chief Executive of National Association of Link Workers Christiana Melam said:
Social enterprises such as ours are set up by passionate people or people with lived experience, in response to unmet needs, thereby filling the gap in provision and should be encouraged to continue to do. The role of social enterprises in filling gaps in support as well as addressing wider determinants of health and wellbeing was acknowledged in the NHS Long Term Plan. As over 40% of social enterprises in the UK are led by women, I am encouraged and honoured to be shortlisted alongside other great women.

Commenting on the Awards, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK Peter Holbrook said:
"Every year the standards of applications for the UK Social Enterprise Awards gets higher and higher. At a time when public confidence in business is at a low and when we are facing crises both political and environmental – this year’s shortlist shows how business can be used to build a better world."
